19.00 | Lion Dance show by Luk Hop Moon Martial Club
In Chinese culture, the lion dance is performed to bring luck, prosperity, and wellbeing, while also driving away evil spirits and negative energy. As NieuwLand celebrates its 10-year anniversary, we welcome this dance as a blessing — for another decade of community, solidarity, and collective joy.

An open stage for those who dare to voice both rage and possibility. As Marx wrote, a revolution is necessary not only to overthrow the ruling class, but also to cleanse ourselves from the muck of ages. That’s where we need art and imagination.

Join us around the fire in the NieuwLand garden for an intimate performance by Luis Valledupar, Colombian accordionist and singer, bringing the soulful sounds of Vallenato.

A fun workshop for all ages: you can stamp T-shirts, jackets, bags, caps, hats, and flags you bring with you. A small selection of T-shirts will also be available at the workshop, and you can source clothes from the Clothing Swap in the Soweto Zaal. It's a creative way to give new life to items you've grown tired of, or to give your clothing an activist touch by stamping XR logos.

Got a flickering lamp, a grumpy coffee machine, or anything else waiting for a fix? ☕✨ Bring it to the Repair Café!
Every second Saturday of the month, join us with WeRepair for guidance and support to help you fix your own items. Quick fixes or a little extra care — learn, repair, and give your things a second life! 🙌
💻 And if you have a laptop or computer still running Windows 10 (and not suitable for Windows 11), or if you’re wondering what to do once Windows 10 stops receiving updates at the end of 2025 — come by! We can help you explore switching to Linux. 🐧

Flat tire? Broken chain? Brakes not braking? Wheels wobbling? FietsKliniek is a volunteer-run, social bike workspace at NieuwLand. All the tools and parts you need are here, and our volunteers will guide you step by step with the necessary repairs — no experience needed.

Come check out — and buy — some of our zines! Maybe even join in on the zine-making fuck-aroundness. We’re a bunch of writers, doodlers, photographers, and thinkers who meet every other Wednesday to work on in-progress zines, share ideas, and chat over tea. Regulars and newcomers alike are always welcome — good vibes guaranteed!
We also host occasional workshops (like Zine Bootcamp in late spring), plan for zine fair participation, and manage distro. Two hours of creativity, connection, and DIY spirit at NieuwLand — come hang out!
