Queere Tiere
Met Queere Tiere (Queer Animals) nodigen Daniel Hellmann, Coco Schwarz en hun artistieke alter ego's Soya the Cow & Piano Prince ons uit om te duiken in een fascinerende wereld waar hermafroditische slakken, homoseksuele hyena's en transgender chimpansees naast elkaar bestaan. Tussen verhalen en liedjes, tussen postdramatische opera en dragshow, creëren ze een veelzijdige podiumruimte rond de diversiteit van seksualiteit, liefde en levensstijlen in het dierenrijk. Vanuit hun persoonlijke perspectief als queer menselijke dieren vertellen ze verhalen over echte queer dieren en dieren uit mythen en sprookjes.
Queere Tiere presenteert een beeld van de natuur dat bevrijd is van de beperkingen van heteronormatieve interpretatie en overdracht, en maakt het leven in al zijn rijkdom en verscheidenheid zichtbaar en viert het.
Soya the Cow (winnaar van de Swiss Performing Awards 2025)
Het personage Soya the Cow bevindt zich op het snijvlak van dierenrechten, klimaatactivisme en feminisme, en combineert muziek en theater. Als veganistische dragkoe vervaagt ze de grenzen tussen gender en soort en weet ze een delicate balans te vinden tussen een serieuze wens om de wereld te veranderen en een luchtig gevoel voor humor. Na optredens in theaters en op kunstfestivals tijdens dierenrechten- en klimaatprotesten, heeft Soya the Cow internationaal getoerd en werd ze onlangs uitgenodigd voor de Swiss Theatre Days met haar kunstroute Try Walking in My Hooves.
Piano Prince
Piano Prince, alias Coco Schwarz (zij/hen), is een genderoverstijgende pianist die muzikale sferen creëert die raken aan identiteit, kwetsbaarheid, verbondenheid en sensualiteit. Wanneer de Prins en hun piano samensmelten, openen ze een wereld vol vergeten dromen en verlangens. Piano Prince biedt een open, genderneutraal en oordeelloos alternatief voor onze uitsluitende maatschappij en verwelkomt iedereen in hun levendige universum.
Queering Puppets Festival Amsterdam
Het internationale Queering Puppets Festival Amsterdam biedt van 1 t/m 6 april opnieuw een podium aan beeldend theater, poppenspel en performances die de norm bevragen. Het thema van de 5e jubileumeditie is ‘The Nature of Things’ en geeft een radicaal antwoord op het westerse en koloniale framing. Beeldend theatermakers en performers vanuit de hele wereld komen bij elkaar tijdens dit festival.
Queering Puppets Festival Amsterdam is queer, feministisch, activistisch en schittert bovenal in eigenwijsheid. Het is het enige festival in Nederland dat poppen- en objecttheater voor volwassenen koppelt aan queer verbeelding . In de safe space die het poppenspel creëert, kan iedereen zijn wie hen, zij, hij, wil en elkaar kan ontmoeten. Verwacht een uitdagende mix van lichamen, verhalen die weigeren in zich aan te passen in bestaande dominante structuren, visuele & erotische uitspattingen, edgy performances, prikkelende lezingen, queery eten en clubby afters.

Queere Tiere
With Queere Tiere (Queer Animals), Daniel Hellmann, Coco Schwarz and their artistic alteregos Soya the Cow & Piano Prince invite us to dive into a fascinating world where hermaphroditic snails, homosexual hyenas and transgender chimpanzees coexist. Between stories and songs, between post-dramatic opera and drag show, they create a multi-faceted stage space around the diversity of sexuality, love and lifestyles in the animal kingdom. Starting from their personal point of view as queer human animals, they tell stories about real queer animals and animals from myths and fairy tales.
Queere Tiere presents an image of nature freed from the constraints of heteronormative interpretation and transmission, making visible and celebrating life in all its richness and variety.

Soya the Cow (winner of swiss performing awards 2025)
Soya the Cow’s character stands at the intersection of animal rights, climate activism and feminism, and combines music and theatre. As a vegan drag cow, she blurs the boundaries between genders and species and manages to walk a fine line between a serious desire to change the world and a light-hearted sense of humour. After performing in theatres and art festivals at animal rights and climate protests, Soya the Cow has toured internationally and was recently invited to the Swiss Theatre Days with her art walk Try Walking in My Hooves.
Piano Prince
Piano Prince aka Coco Schwarz (they/them) is a gender-bending piano artist who creates musical spheres that touch on identity, vulnerability, connection and sensuality. When the Prince and their piano merge into one, they open up a world full of all our forgotten dreams and desires. Piano Prince offers an open, gender-neutral and non-judgmental alternative to our exclusionary society and welcomes everyone to join their vibrant cosmos.
Queering Puppets Festival Amsterdam
From April 1st to 6th, the international Queering Puppets Festival Amsterdam once again offers a platform for visual theater, puppetry, and performances that defy the norm. The theme of the 5th anniversary edition is "The Nature of Things" and offers a radical response to Western and colonial framing. Visual theater makers and performers from around the world will come together during this festival.
Queering Puppets Festival Amsterdam is queer, feminist, activist and above all stands out in quirkiness. It is the only festival in the Netherlands that links puppetry and object theatre for adults to queer imagination. In the safe space created by puppetry, everyone can be who they, she, he, wants and can meet each other. Expect a challenging mix of bodies, stories that refuse to adapt to existing dominant structures, visual & erotic outbursts, edgy performances, stimulating lectures, queery food and clubby afters.
