Performance 'Bamboo Oloid' van Maria Blaisse

Performance 'Bamboo Oloid' van Maria Blaisse

A performance featuring the Oloide bamboo structure by artist/researcher Maria Blaisse, presented in the exhibition space where the Salon 2025 is currently on view.

Maria will give a brief introduction to this energetic form. This will be followed by an improvisation by dancer Miri Lee, who will reveal the transformative potential of the Oloide, a form that contains many forms within itself.

Maria’s projects can be seen as sculptures or costumes. In many cases, it is difficult to determine which takes precedence: the body or the form. Her work moves between the disciplines of art, design, textiles, architecture, and ecology, and emerges from an exploration of material, form, and movement. The results have found their way internationally to theatres, catwalks, and museums. Maria has also developed this way of working for educational contexts, aiming to give more people insight into how materials can be used with greater care.

Duration of the performance: approx. 20 minutes.
