In the year 2099 the country of Suriname has taken over the world. (Kind of what the Spice girls did in 1996 but with even more political implications.)

The multi-billion dollar oil & gas investment in 2024 transformed the small former Dutch colony to the #1 economic superpower on the planet.

Beyond their Earthly success they’ve acquired a new planet and dubbed it: NEW New Nickerie. With a similar tropical climate, universal healthcare, 3-day work week, pension age of 32 and mansions for everyone.

Your charming host is also the pilot, co-pilot, cabin crew, on-flight musical entertainment and space marshall. When the ship accidentally ends up in a part of the galaxy hidden by the government an adventure starts where you slowly uncover an inconvenient truth about the Surinamese empire.

BIOGRAPHY

LASHAAAWN (They/Them She/Her) self proclaimed Amsterdam’s Sweetheart is a drag performance artist. A fantasy world builder who in her work critically and comedically reflects on themes such as queerness, colonialism and The Real Housewives of AtlantaTM
