Oscillating between a punk ethos and a heartfelt delicacy, the unprecedented sound of BRIGADERA has recently echoed in the international creative music scene. The duo of Beatrice Sberna & Gabriel de Oliveira defines their music as impro-songwriting: influenced by both Brazilian and Italian cantautori and “folk” traditions, avant-garde movements, and contemporary pop sensibilities.

They now announce their eponymous debut LP with JIPO Records, due October 2025 – for which avant-punk ‘Alternative Scene’ and chamber-fok ‘Mostro’ have already been heard. In the last years, they have worked their way out from quirky jazz students to playing Le Guess Who?, Bimhuis, and touring the EU with Wendy Eisenberg & Maniscalco. Their current collaborations trace lines along leading voices of Dutch jazz, such as Sun-Mi Hong and Alessandro Fongaro, underground legends such as Manlio Maresca, and international features in the league of David Binney and Binkbeats.

YED is an absolute yes to everything that is fun, weird, unexpected, or against the norm. Made of musical rawness in which these feelings create a pleasant tickling at the back of your skull and strange comfort as if someone had just inhaled gasoline. It is the sound a dropped knife makes on ceramic tiles, while someone is burping; It is a burnt of eyebrow from lighting a cig in the wind and a day-old ballpoint pen tattoo, faded on your hairy hand. It is music born out of necessity to relieve oneself from frustration and anger of being stuck with institutionalised truths about the “correct” sound.

m;n;ma,kt = experimental improv cousin of SUPERMARKT the dance-punk band from Amsterdam. Kinda strange, doesn’t quite get social cues but is fun and we all love them – the family gathering wouldn’t be the same without.
