This new quartet brings together four musicians from Portugal and the Netherlands, rooted in free improvisation, contemporary classical music, and experimental song. Dutch cellist Isa Schouten and Portuguese percussionist Bernardo Cruz have developed a shared language through a year of collaboration, playing free improvisation and music of composer Anthony Braxton. Singer Vera Morais and saxophonist Hristo Goleminov play together as a duo for multiple years, and work at the intersection of improvisation and poetry. Meeting for the first time as a quartet, they play improvised and composed music.
