Poetry and music in an annually changing Frisian-international ensemble — that’s IT DEEL, a residency project by the Kleefstra brothers. Last summer, the Kleefstras invited cellist Joana Guerra and violinist Maria do Mar de Brito Lopes for a week-long creative residency at a special location: the Thomas Church in Katlijk. IT DEEL IV is out on vinyl LP on Moving Furniture Records. As part of their Dutch concert tour, they will make a stop at GROND to present their album in the Amsterdam audience.
The central theme running through all IT DEEL collaborations: the relationship between humans and nature, in all its beauty and complexity. It’s not a light topic, but one that is universal and deeply connecting. Each year, it’s remarkable to witness what has emerged from the Fryske grûn — Frisian soil — in the dialogue between the Kleefstras and their European guest musicians. Missed earlier editions? This is your last chance: IT DEEL IV is the final instalment of the project. Already a long-time follower? Excellent — we’ll see you there!
• Orphax •
Amsterdam based musician and trained drummer Sietse van Erve (Orphax) was introduced to electronic music in the early nineties. After playing around with tracker software for a couple of years, he eventually recorded his first more serious attempts of music with beats and melodies in 1998, though soon lost interest in both these.
He started researching new sounds and new ways of working – always with an organic touch, often incorporating sounds that would be regarded by others as errors or mistakes. Considering life isn’t without errors either. During this search, he found his way into drone and microtonal music. As a result in his most recent work, time and spatiality become more important factors. The goal of the music is for the listener to lose the sense of time and place.
Live, this is combined with room for improvisation. This way of working results often in an organic form of drone and minimal music.

TEMPERATURA is a concert series initiated by composers/performers—and GROND members—Jasna Veličković and Fani Konstantinidou. The series focuses on contemporary music from the Netherlands and beyond, aiming to bring together its diverse expressions. By promoting the wide spectrum of contemporary musical stimuli, TEMPERATURA seeks to bridge the gap between musicians, composers, and performers from different musical backgrounds. Through these temporary crossings, we aim to create an environment—a playful space for experimentation and open ears—that fosters performing, creating, and experiencing music together. Ultimately, TEMPERATURA strives to bring fresh musical adventures to local audiences and spread today’s artistic practices.
