Squeeze
A mainstay of British pop
Squeeze are the British band formed around songwriters Glenn Tilbrook and Chris Difford. Since emerging in the late seventies, they have become a defining presence in British pop, with songs such as 'Cool for Cats' and 'Up the Junction' now regarded as classics. Between 1978 and 1996, 11 singles reached the UK Top 40. Their influence can be heard in artists including Lily Allen and The Killers. More than five decades on, Tilbrook and Difford are still making music together. In 2026, they released 'Trixies', an album first conceived during their teenage years.
