Para-siting: 0000-00-00

Trevoga is a collective that defines itself as a chaotic intersection of performers who move against the current: dreamers, doomers and aliens drawn toward another affect. Searching for an even more free-form methodology of peer-to-peer theatre production, Trevoga settles into Para-siting to develop Softrot’s upcoming solo performance 0000-00-00, made in collaboration with Neda Ruzheva, Manshee Zheng and music producer Damiaan Steyn.

Through heavily processed vocals, comfort clothes, soft hexes, and disorienting dramaturgy, 0000-00-00 captures Softrot mid-molt. Like an insect whose new exoskeleton hasn’t hardened, her world is unstable, suspended between incomplete images, worst-case scenarios and everyday rituals stuck on repeat. Her softness means she can only move wrongly.

Inflected by Trevoga’s fascination with grim aesthetics and algorithmic alienation, the work turns this suspended state into a condition rather than an exception. What happens when the act of becoming hardens into logistical obligation, when transformation ceases to promise renewal and becomes continuous labor instead? 

0000-00-00 doesn’t fear the end of the world, but a world that never quite ends. Productive exhaustion, curdled into optimized deterioration. Where every attempt at repair extends what is already wearing away. Simply continuing because there is no protocol for stopping.

The process of the performance will remain accessible to visitors throughout the exhibition during opening hours. The public programme unfolds through two guided encounters Rotmaxxing Home and Rot-in-Progress before culminating in the first public try-out of the performance, Try-Rotting: 0000-00-00.

Nina Pushkareva—Softrot—is an Amsterdam-based multidisciplinary artist and graduate of the Academy for Theatre and Dance (Modern Theatre Dance). Working across movement, music, fashion, and sculpture, she approaches the body as both image and organism, caught between decay and hallucinated continuity; reconstructed from references, preserved and consumed.

Neda Ruzheva—co-founder of dance collective Trevoga—graduated from the School for New Dance Development before continuing their studies at the Sandberg Institute. Their practice blends academic rigor with subcultural grit, fusing theory, sculpture, physicality and industrial sound to probe the commodification of desire and longing buried beneath digital fatigue.

Manshee Zheng (b. 2002, Beijing) is an artist based in Amsterdam, working across installation, fashion objects and autofictional text. Her practice orbits spectacle-driven desire and the tension between sterile surfaces and psychological violence. She constructs controlled, seductive scenes of exhibitionistic hiding—simultaneously hypervisible and hollowed out.
