Jump Cuts is a monthly series at Zaal 100 celebrating the musical underground of Amsterdam and beyond. In collaboration with Nu! Presents.
Yvonne Melissa (violin, viola, voice, composition)
Yvonne Melissa was born in Kavala, Greece, in 1998. She began her studies on the violin at the age of seven, under the tutelage of Z. Zlateva. She studied classical violin and music theory and obtained her diploma with “excellency unanimously” in 2022 at “Orfeio” Conservatory in Athens, guided by her professors M. Plesti and D. Semsis. From 2023 she has been studying Turkish music at Codarts WMDC. She has been a member of many orchestras, as well as in numerous chamber musical ensembles, seminars and she has performed in some of the most important music scenes of Greece and beyond. She has composed music for dance performances and short movies. Moreover, she is a postgraduate student of National and Kapodistrian Athens Law School. Her first album named “Myrra” with T. Kofodimos was released in 2023, and a second album “Kormos” is set to be released during autumn of 2026.

Shira Wolfe
Shira Wolfe is a multilingual poet, writer and translator from Amsterdam. After completing her master’s in International Performance Research with a project about the Palestinian poet Mahmoud Darwish, she lived primarily in Belgrade between 2016 and 2021. There, she started working on her poetry trilogy Wider Than the Sky (2021), Wider Wings (2022) and Fallen Angel (2023) – an ongoing poetry project in which she captures each day of her life in a short poem. In 2025, she published her English-Serbian poetry collection Jugoslovenska Kinoteka – a cinematic journey through the Balkans and Palestine – with The New Menard Press. Shira leads poetry and writing workshops for asylum seekers in the Netherlands with De Vrolijkheid Foundation, always focusing on the strength of multilingualism.
