Aiming to re-imagine the stereotypes associated with the artist as hospitality worker, The Hospitality Playbook ‘serves’ to interrogate the precarity of work in the arts and cultural industries in The Netherlands. The publication gathers contributions from Amsterdam-based artists and cultural workers currently employed in the hospitality sector, who share stories of, or inspired by, their work experiences. The Hospitality Playbook seeks to navigate the intersection between labour, personal value, cultural work, and the concept of ‘hospitality’, making visible the value of service workers in Dutch society.
