In Place of War is a global organisation that uses artistic creativity in places impacted by conflict and climate change as a tool for positive change. We enable grassroots change-makers in music, theatre and across the arts to transform cultures of violence and suffering into hope, opportunity and freedom.

Matt Black (Coldcut):
Matt Black combines a background in science and computing with the arts. He is half of the multimedia group Coldcut, founders of the Ninja Tune label. Since 1988, he has created music and A-V works that centre activism and built instruments like Jamm. He has worked with artists from The Fall via Queen Latifah to Brian Eno and also performs and lectures.

Matt's stated ambition is to 'create positive art, music and spiritual technology that blow the minds of the entire planet and advance cooperation'.

Jnr Ross
Jnr Ross takes audiences on a trip around the world through deep, percussive selections, pulling in sounds and textures from every corner of the globe. Years of curating and blending soundtracks worldwide shape a set that layers in organic samples to keep the floor moving.

BUENOSDIAZ: 
Born and raised in Bogotá and Amsterdam-based, with a rooted love for tropical music, mixes and plays with the different sounds he grew up with in latinamerica and the new soundscapes he found in amsterdam. from latinclub to cumbia and downtempo expect some shifting and eclectic sounds.

DJ E-Cology:
Eli Goldstein’s career spans 20+ years on the decks and beyond. Best known as half of EFUNK purveyors SOUL CLAP, Eli’s path through the music industry winds like a river flowing down a mountain. He DJedaround the world, but focuses on local and regional gigs to travel responsibly, while hosting a monthly show on Brooklyn’s THE LOTRADIO. He runs SOUL CLAP RECORDS, one of Mixmag’s most influential disco labels. He cultivates deeper connections with FUTURE SOUND OF NATURE, a regenerative electronic music festival in upstate New York. And he’s one of the founders of BLACK FLAMINGO, a discotheque and restaurant in Brooklyn. Through it all, Eli’s mission has been to share music that feels like the past, but sounds like the future. Music that makes you move your body and feel something in your soul. But music is not always enough, and Eli strives to make a positive impact on the world by helping humans remember that WE ARE ALL NATURE and fighting for climate justice with djs for climate action, receiving an m.s. in climate science & policy, co-chairing the AFem greengroup, sitting on the in place of war artists advisory board, and supporting give a beat’s social justice programs.

Paranoid London
Paranoid London, who choose to keep a low profile, have self-released a string of popular underground club tunes since 2007 comprising rough-around-the-edges acid and house tracks, often with vocals on top—their biggest effort to date is "Paris Dub 1," featuring a vocal turn from Chicago house original Paris Brightledge. Two other versions of "Paris Dub" appear on the ten-track LP, titled Paranoid London, along with a mix of new material and previously released tracks. Other contributors to the record include Mutado Pintado and DJ Genesis.
