Dopamina x Choka

Dopamina is a BIPOC queer event that celebrates music, culture, and community through the lens of underground Brazilian electro funk/baile funk and underground Latinx (Latin Club) sounds.

Dopamina is more than just an event—it’s a movement, a sanctuary, and a celebration of BIPOC brazilian & latinx queer culture through the electrifying sounds of Brazilian underground electro funk/baile funk and underground latin club rhythms.
For our first edition on the 24th of May in Parallel, we're teaming up with CHOKA, a Berlin-based Latin American collective founded by Bolivian artist and DJ Maque and Brazilian producer auto_time. Inspired by the word “chocar” (to collide), CHOKA is both a platform and party amplifying bass sounds from the Global South—centered on queer, migrant, and diasporic voices.

Designed as a safe space for the BIPOC brazilian and latinx LGBTQ+ community, Dopamina brings together music, identity, and freedom, creating an immersive experience where the afro and latin community is welcome to dance, connect, and thrive focused on south american LGBTQ+ artist.

At the heart of Dopamina is a commitment to staying ahead of the curve when it comes to underground LGBTQ+ electronic South American music. We constantly seek out the freshest sounds, the most innovative artists, and the boldest trends to ensure our events are a vibrant reflection of the global South American underground music scene. By bringing international artists to the Netherlands, we bridge cultures and sounds, offering a unique platform for both established and emerging talent to showcase their artistry.

Line-up

Galecta Galecta a Baile Funk DJ born in Manaus/Brazil, currently based in the Netherlands. Drawing inspiration from her roots, Galecta blends a diverse range of underground Balie Funk rhythms, from the pulsating beats of Baile Eletrônico to the infectious energy of Baile Carioca and Afrobaile.
Inspired by the dynamic afro club scene in The Netherlands, Galecta influences her Baile Funk sets with eclectic Afro Sounds, creating a unique and captivating dimension to her mixes. Rattlesnakke Rattlesnakke is an Argentine composer, DJ and producer who has burst onto the international music scene, originating in the vibrant Buenos Aires underground. Known for her innovative style, she fuses electronic rhythms with Latin club and RKT, creating a unique sonic experience that has captivated audiences in Latin America, Europe and the United States. Since her beginnings, she has stood out for her ability to mix genres and rhythms, bringing the energy of Latin music to the most iconic dance floors. Her creative approach and ability to connect with the public have made her a key member in contemporary electronic music. As she continues to expand her career, Rattlesnakke continues to explore new sonorities and themes, staying true to her cultural roots and using her platform to promote diversity in music. The main characteristic of her project is to fuse different dance rhythms, in the framework of electronic and urban music, with sounds more representative of her region and nearby regions, that's how she felt more represented by her work. Barroskini Barroskini is a Brazilian artist and rising DJ based in Amsterdam, known for crafting electrifying soundscapes. Their music explores the rhythms of the global south, blending genres like Baile Funk, Guaracha, Latin Core with high-energy uptempo beats. Trust and believe, you will be grinding and constantly wanting more. Maque Maque is a multidisciplinary artist who believes in the transformative power of pleasure and movement. Her music and DJ sets are a journey of pleasure and perreo through different genres. From old school reggaeton to jungle and tribal core, passing through RKT, guaracha, latin club, cumbiatón, latin tech/core, and pop edits, her selection celebrates the sounds of LATAM.
She has played on platforms such as CTM, Hoe_mies x Keep Hush, Listen to Berlin Awards, Meta Rave, Refuge Worldwide, Kiosk Radio and CHOKA, among others. In 2023, Maque co-founded CHOKA together with auto_timer. CHOKA is a party and platform that seeks to amplify sounds and practices from the global south. Her EP Baba, produced with auto_timer and Lisa Kida, was released on February 7, 2025 under the Lust Poderosa label. Auto_Timer Auto_Timer is a Brazilian DJ and producer based in Berlin. They focus on left-field Latin American bass music (specially from Brazil).As a DJ they are known for very dynamic sets that always push for connections between different sub-genres of electronic music and latin bass and club music while incorporating deconstructed elements of Baile Funk, Ritmado and Bruxaria and broken percussions. Auto_Timer is a resident at Lahmacun Radio and together with Berlin-based Bolivian DJ Maque is one of the founders of the CHOKAcollective which exists as a platform and traveling club night focusing on promoting electronic music from the global south. They have travelled across Europe and Latin America and futures in many onlineradios (Refuge Worldwide, Ola Radio, KIOSK, Lahmacun, etc).
