Dinner concert: Ron Cha & Bob Wiebes

Inspired by legendary venues like New York’s Blue Note, London’s Ronnie Scott's we introduce Amsterdam’s Contra: the place to enjoy intimate jazz concerts from your dinner table. A chef's menu is served, accompanied by our wide selection of wines. To keep the balance between the listening experience and sharing the moment, the concert consists of 3 sets of 35-40 minutes, each followed by a break to enjoy your table, your company, and the atmosphere.

This edition we welcome Ron Cha and Bob Wiebes!

Ronojit Chaliha aka. Ron Cha is Pianist, Producer, Composer and Educator from Assam, India. Ron has had a Western Classical Piano background for 15 years and then crossed over to Jazz, RnB and Gospel music. Ron is the recipient of the 1st A.R. Rahman 100% Full Scholarship to Berklee College of Music. He has toured America, Europe and Asia with artists suchas Lizzy McAlpine, Ferenc Németh, Gregory Tardy, Jacques Schwarz-Bart, Stephanie McKay and his own projects as a bandleader.

Singer extraordinare and philanthropist Bob Wiebes is famous for his extravagant take on melody, rhythm and intonation, so far as that audiences all around the globe have wondered ‘if he even knows what he’s doing’. Nevertheless, when Bob Wiebes ascends a stage, terror makes way for joy, since all beginnings do have an inevitable end, except for a sausage, which has two ends.
