Live jazz with Justin Zitt trio

Inspired by legendary venues like New York’s Blue Note, London’s Ronnie Scott's we introduce Amsterdam’s Contra: the place to enjoy intimate jazz concerts from your dinner table. A chef's menu is served, accompanied by our wide selection of wines. To keep the balance between the listening experience and sharing the moment, the concert consists of 3 sets of 35-40 minutes, each followed by a break to enjoy your table, your company, and the atmosphere.

By uniting their virtuosic playing, Justin Zitt, Ton Felices, and Ludvig Søndergaard create an intense, energetic flow. Bold musical choices break through this current, leading to unexpected twists and moments of surprise - all while staying present in the moment. This trio never ceases to captivate, whether through their harmonically rich, multi-layered compositions or their daring and fresh approach to improvisation. Stylistically, the trio explores the boundaries of the „modern-creative jazz“ piano trio. Being deeply rooted in the tradition of jazz, the band establishes a contemporary-mainstream aesthetic while also incorporating influences from the Avantgarde and other progressive developments. The result is a confident impression of young and ambitious jazz music.
