Portland’s DIY punk icon, rock n roll godmother and, co-founder of legendary DEAD MOON, TOODY COLE is bringing the heat to OCCII Amsterdam, 1st of September 2026 with Jenny Don’t & The Spurs!
Direct from Clackamas, Oregon, Toody Cole (Dead Moon) & Her Band centers on one of the most influential figures in American DIY rock & roll. As co-founder and driving force of the iconic band Dead Moon, Toody Cole, alongside her husband and creative partner Fred Cole, helped forge a raw, uncompromising sound that formed a living bridge between original ’60s American garage rock and later punk, garage, and early grunge movements. Her punchy, melodic bass playing and unmistakable vocal presence were essential to Dead Moon’s power-trio dynamic, anchoring a fiercely independent body of work that continues to resonate across generations.
Following the passing of drummer Andrew Loomis and Fred Cole, Toody carries the Dead Moon songbook forward with Kelly Haliburton (drums), her longtime bandmate from Pierced Arrows, and Christopher March (guitar) of Jenny Don’t & The Spurs. Together, Toody Cole & Her Band honour the grit, emotional weight, and self-reliant spirit of Dead Moon’s catalog, delivering these songs with renewed urgency and reverence while preserving one of American rock & roll’s most enduring DIY legacies.

Jenny Don’t, known for her strong-willed and independent nature, embodies the authentic outlaw spirit of Country Western music. Her songwriting, influenced by the contrasting landscapes of the Pacific Northwest and Southwestern desert, forms the bedrock of their sound. The band skillfully merges their garage-rock origins with a distinct western flair, characterized by driving tempos, gritty fuzz tones, and a high-octane, rockin’ western delivery that sets them apart from the herd. Their music authentically captures the outlaw spirit, with hints of gritty surf like Dick Dale, while paying homage to classic country legends like Johnny Paycheck and George Jones.
