B.base is a pilot program by 4bidgallery. It is based on the body, and how this is a source for work through different mediums of Art. The evenings of exhibition, performances, a screening and a panel discussion around the theme of the body. The aim of B.base is to explore the (moving) body by questioning how artists, working with different mediums, represent it, use it as a tool, admire it or make it the subject of their work to express their concepts.

Paintings by Fernando Couto from the serie Flare of Regret:
Beyond the materiality of painting, my work deals with themes such as movement, energy, and transformation. The brushstroke becomes a trace of speed and force, evoking natural and cosmic phenomena — beehive patterns, tree branches, electric discharges, and spiraling smoke. I am particularly interested in the violence of color and line — not in terms of representation, but as pure sensation. As Deleuze suggests, it is about painting the scream more than the horror itself. My paintings evoke fluidity and combustion, exploring the idea of creation through destruction, with images of burning landscapes, dissolving forms, and figures engulfed in fire.

ABOUT the Performances this night:
1: FINE LINE by gem'n'eye (Irina Baldini and Emily Welther)
Through a multidisciplinary approach (using voice, sound, movement and video), in FINE LINE gem'n'eye experiments with notions of decay and transformation. We let our bodies relate to stories of mythical creatures such as fairies, sprites and sylphs, and our minds reflect on themes of mortality and renewal through concepts of decomposition, oxidation, and alchemy. In the sound and movement that emerge through this exploration, we find a shallow tension, a fine line between creation, transformation, and decomposition.
2: harri kanta - orchestrated by Juliette Lizotte with a scenography by Noah Cohen and infrastructure by vo ezn.
Between reality and fiction, (pre)History and stories, harri kanta is a journey to the core of an alternative history of Euskal Herria, exploring the idea that it is still inhabited by genies from its forgotten animist mythology. What emerges is a fable that interweaves tales of resistance (to Christianity, industrialization, the French and Spanish administrations, patriarchy, capitalism...), folklore and queer theory.
