ALOPECOID is PedroAfoxso’s debut work. The catalogue of 8 tracks comes to life in 3 different formats, all premiering this evening: A live performance (ALOPECOID: AGILE SEEDING), a recorded album (ALOPECOID: LATENT PREDATOR) and a book (A LOPECOID: CUNNING REBELLION). Through the author’s lens of the world he invites the public to defy their relationship to the status quo as he swiftly connects his scars to the utopic desires he has for himself and the world.

A foxlike humanoid persona awakens in movement and spoken word spreading a seed of revolution via ALOPECOID’s 8 scenes. PedroAfoxso’s storytelling of grief, addiction, sexuality and labour intertwines with socio-political reflections as he searches for hope in the lived torment that shapes this artistic introduction.

PedroAfoxso
PedroAfoxso is a Portuguese artist based in Amsterdam. His practice carries out via movement, text and theater, immersing the audience into a parallel world inspired by queer and grotesque imagery. His research is like a chess game, where placing a checkmate means having to revolutionize the set rules to escape defeat to the system. Pedro has been creating since 2022 with 4,9/10 and most recently Infinitely Near Point presenting at ZIDTheater, Plein Theater and others.
