Belgium’s alternative scene hits OT301 to launch the intense AADE weekend. On Thursday, October 22nd, TUKAN and Aili & Orson join forces for a high-energy live act showcase. Having built an impressive track record across Europe’s top stages and festivals, both acts are set to deliver. Charlie Avalon (Amsterdam) and Umbra (Brussels) set the tone on opening and closing duties with fine selector dj sets.

Subverting conventional expectations has always been at the top of TUKAN’s agenda. Having barely broken onto the Belgian music scene, the Brussels quartet has rapidly built a reputation as a brilliant live act, overflowing with ideas and displaying a striking command of this mix of styles. How does it all work? The beats dance between pulsating retrofuturism and an alternative approach to dance, while the instrumentation moves effortlessly between rock combo and indietronica bedroom project; TUKAN also incorporates techno and jazz in perfectly measured accents. Anyone arriving with specific stylistic expectations gets a lesson: this band always manages to sound different, yet remain utterly unique. Even after their debut Atoll (2022), the press was full of praise, and a world tour of over 200 shows sold out in no time. The TUKAN sound was born, polished, and established. Now they are back with their follow-up Human Drift (2025), celebrating the joy of dance and ecstasy, synergy and energy according to every trick in the book. Fasten your seatbelts.

Aili & Orson
Aili & Orson is a Belgian-Japanese electro-pop duo consisting of Aili Maruyama and Orson Wouters. Forged in the Belgian alternative club scene and rooted in the nuances of Japanese culture, the duo seamlessly bridges two distinct worlds. The result is a minimalist and colorful sonic universe where language barriers dissolve into pure, infectious energy. Now, they are ready to unveil their next chapter with their second album, set for release in early 2027.
Formed after a chance meeting in 2019, their instant musical chemistry led to a playful and spontaneous approach to songwriting, blending electronic beats, samples, and Aili's unique Japanese vocals. Their first release, 2021’s Dansu EP, received widespread acclaim, spending 8 weeks at the top of Radio 1's VOX list in Belgium. This initial success quickly rippled across borders, catching the attention of Tokyo's creative label TOKA, who partnered with the duo to release a special Japanese edition of the debut EP Dansu.
Their first full-length album, Nandakke? (Eskimo Recordings), pushed them onto the global stage. The record went straight to #1 on KCRW’s Top 30 Album Chart in the US, picked up heavy daytime rotation on KEXP, BBC Radio 6 Music, and Nova France, and racked up loads of streams across tastemaker playlists like Metropolis and Pollen.
Live, Aili & Orson are a structured, high-energy storm. Beyond their own sold-out headline dates across Europe and Japan, they spent late 2024 supporting L'Impératrice on tour, packing out iconic rooms like L’Olympia in Paris, Melkweg in Amsterdam, and the Roundhouse in London.
With their signature cross-cultural playfulness and boundless energy, the duo continues to define a sonic universe entirely of their own.

charlie avalon approaches djing with a simple philosophy: if it works on the dance floor, it belongs in the mix. their sets pull from an era when dance music was rougher, sweatier, and more DIY, blending dirty electro, pulsing synths, and bass-heavy beats with an unpredictable edge. with their club night INDIESLEAZE, they tap into that raw, high-energy atmosphere, moving between sleazy pop, distorted house, and left-field club sounds. it’s a sound that has taken them from underground clubs in amsterdam, london, antwerp and ghent to festival stages at best kept secret, lowlands, down the rabbit hole, and into the great wide open. along the way, they’ve shared the stage with 2manydjs, the dare, lynks, and other artists who thrive on pushing dance floors into uncharted territory. wherever they play, the goal remains the same: keep things unpredictable, keep the energy high, and never let the night settle.

Umbra
Julien Gathy alias Umbra is a Brussels based dj, producer & Magma Collective co-founder & resident. His sets are known for their eclectic and dynamic sound, blending different styles and genres seamlessly to create a unique atmosphere that always gets the crowd moving. Expect leftfield house, beats, breaks, indie dance and everything in between. Umbra is a usual suspect of majors venues in Belgium such as C12, La Cabane, Fuse, Listen festival etc...
His last release on Hardfist, "Tints of UFOria" is a celestial sonic exploration of euphoria in all its forms, from profound, shadowy depths to heart-pounding excitement and has been supported by major artists such as Chloé, Matisa, Roe Deers, DC Salas, Lauer, Barbara Boeing..
