A festive, groovy, and intimate New Year’s concert featuring seasoned musicians from the Dutch jazz scene. Sean Fasciani / Stefan Kruger / Mark Tuinstra — FaKruTu is an idiosyncratic guitar trio with a fondness for the unexpected. Inspired by the angular brilliance of Thelonious Monk, the daring harmonies of Igor Stravinsky, the sound world of contemporary electronic music, and the pulse of African rhythms, FaKruTu embarks on a journey of discovery into a new sonic universe.
Expect a no-compromise experiment, groove-driven improvisations drawing from: hop & bop & pop, a touch of blip! and a splash of woo!
Today’s special guest is Nana Kruger; a vocalist, composer, and interdisciplinary artist whose work brings together strength in vulnerability, rich color palettes, and visual lyricism. Nana has performed on stages such as the North Sea Jazz Festival, Paradiso, and The Stone, and has collaborated with artists including Ruben Hein and Zuco 103. Nana is currently based in New York, where she continues to weave sonic research with activism, creating work rooted in intuition, the body, and truth.
