A Modern Orhan Veli is a concert project that brings together Agoshian's contemporary choral and solo compositions in various styles written on poems by renowned poet Orhan Veli. The programme features new Turkish-language pop, jazz, reggae and rock songs.

VoxPhorus Chamber Choir, under the direction of Ardashes Agoshian, is driven by the belief that voices can cross continents. The project opens a free space between poetry and music, where the rhythm of language, the immediacy of everyday speech and modern musical colours come to the fore. Through the use of electronics, traditional instruments and colourful vocal arrangements, Orhan Veli’s world is re-imagined through today’s musical language.

English translations of the poetry will be projected during the performance.
