Curated by Local Gr0up, a Ukrainian platform for experimental art and Ganok an Amsterdam based collective, which regularly screens Ukrainian filmmakers in Ventilator Cinema, we feature films by 7 Ukrainian artists ranging from essays of exploring destroyed neighbourhoods, iphone internet archives, narrative vignettes reflecting humanity, zoom calls exploring relationship between mother and daughter and video collages on themes of identity. A quiet yet persistent sense of loneliness runs through the selection, in which filmmakers navigate broken streets, drifting through spaces in a somnambulistic state.
Alongside the screenings, we will host an on-site fundraiser supporting Ukrainian volunteer initiatives providing evacuation and medical aid in frontline areas, in collaboration with AIDx10.
