Notes from Cruising in an urban forest
Notes from Cruising an Urban Forest is a film-led performance bringing together moving-image, photographic slides, sound, and spoken text developed through research in the gay-cruising forest of the Oeverlanden in Amsterdam. Moving beyond this landscape, the performance extends into lived histories of cruising across sites in India, alongside accounts gathered through the research. Fragments of voices, gestures, and images unfold across these geographies, tracing cruising as a method of navigating landscape through attention, desire, and memory.
Tusharr Madhavv (he/him, they/them) is a multidisciplinary artist working across moving-image, photography, performance, and artistic research. Engaging with lived histories and archival encounters, his work unfolds through relationships between people, places, and artistic processes, weaving together the personal and the political.
