Benefit for people in Ceuta :
We are a group of individuals that arrived to Ceuta to reinforce the already existing collectives and groups supporting people on the move with distribution of basics, such as food, water and clothes. First aid assistance, since we have seen hospital security kicking people out by force. And within our possibilities offer legal and psicological support to people going through the most brutal situation in the streets. Documenting the police brutality that has been happening day and night for the past month, which is terrifyingly escalating.
Theres currently, according to our own calculations, more than 7500 people living in the streets in complete institutional abandonment.
These 30 days of ongrowing tension between locals, people on the move, authorities and support groups have escalated to an extremely unsustainable violent point.
Due to the situation, many supporters and some groups all together have retired from the terrain. Some of us have also taken a step back to reorganise and recollect ourselves, thoughts and resources before going back in some weeks time.
Together with the list we have put together of donations we are collecting urgently, we need to collect a monetary fund to be ready for the costs we have been made conscious of these weeks. Including legal costs of the arrests for filming military violence, as well as the costs of sending all donations through official transport companies in the port of Algeciras. Its been weeks that humanitarian aid is blocked by siezing vehicles and sanctioning people that carry donations.
