Trans Solidarity Fundraiser

We call for your solidarity in support of trans students in Turkey facing transphobia, violence, oppression and marginalization in their daily lives. Especially in light of the recently leaked 11th Judicial Package which targets LGBT+ individuals, your help is needed.
The 11th Judicial Package restricts gender affirming care for trans people as well as aiming to criminalize same-sex public displays of affection. This is just one manifestation of queerphobic and transphobic policy the Turkish government continues to implement.

All proceeds will go to Hande Kader Solidarity, named after Hande Kader – a sex worker, queer activist and trans woman, who was brutally murdered in 2016. When Bogazici University LGBTI+ Club in Istanbul attempted to establish a “Hande Kader Scholarship” for LGBTI+ students, in 2017, this was blocked by the university presidency. Hande Kader Solidarity now is a group of volunteers working to provide scholarships to trans students in Turkey.
