The Klittens: Klitfest
The five misfits from Amsterdam and The Hague are back with their annual festival, Klitfest. The Klittens bring a quirky mix of pop, country and (post-)punk, drawing on influences from The Ronettes, MF Doom, Dry Cleaning and Kate Bush.
Their long-awaited debut album ‘Have A Heart’ is due out in September. On the record, the band sound both light-hearted and ominous: ten separate stories about powerlessness, resistance and surrender, wrapped up in sharp guitar riffs and harmonised vocals. As a taster for the album, the band recently released ‘Have A Heart’, in which The Klittens contrast powerlessness with the need for human compassion, without losing the edge of their sound.
With Klitfest, The Klittens are also taking control of the rest of the evening. The band are putting together the line-up themselves and bringing together artists who fit into their unique world of punk, pop and everything in between.
