The Island Goats present: Exported Goats

The Island Goats present: Exported Goats
A lively talk with Bonairean creatives exploring their bold art, stories and creative freedom.

For the seventh edition of ‘Between the Sun, Wind and Waves’ we invite Bonaire’s artists Dillon Rannou, Darwin Luna Colorado and Flex for an inspiring conversation celebrating the colors, rhythms and stories of the Caribbean. Their art captures the spirit of the islands: bold colors, playful lines and a creative freedom that blends heritage, identity and imagination. During this panel talk and audience Q&A, they’ll share insights into their artistic journeys, their loose and intuitive style and the perspectives that shape their vision.

This talk is part of the Taste of Bonaire exhibition, more info below.

More about the artists

Darwin Luna Colorado is founding member of The Island Goats, an interdisciplinary collective of creatives based mainly on Bonaire. Darwin started with photography and videography in 2015 and later expanded into painting and carpentry. As the collective grows – not only with creatives, but also skaters, surfer, motorheads and more – Darwin keeps a sharp eye on where they came from, where they are now, and where they can be in the future. The horizon is limitless, through bright Caribbean colors, collective creativity and making memories together, Darwin wants to show the world that the small rock he comes from – Bonaire – has big potential.

Dillon Rannou is a Caribbean artist mainly working in painting, but also dabbles in clothing, music and videography. The colors and energy of the islands radiate throughout all of Dillon’s work, regardless of the creative medium.

Flex was born in the Netherlands and raised under Bonaire’s sun, Flex is a rapper forging a fresh voice in modern hip-hop. Music ran through his home: a reggae-playing father and a mother who sang soul and played bass. Her hard work and creativity, along with the island’s warmth and challenges, shaped his drive and resilience.

Flex began as a producer, but when placements proved scarce, he turned to the mic. Influenced by Lucki, Playboi Carti, Tyler, the Creator, Young Thug, and legends like Lil Wayne and T-Pain, he blends underground grit, catchy melodies, and layered vocals to tell his story. Now focused on evolving his sound and growing his audience, Flex channels persistence and passion into every track. For him, music isn’t just a craft — it’s his purpose.

Mauricio de Vries is an interdisciplinary world builder who expresses himself through theatre, fine arts, and creative writing. His work exists at the crossroads of science fiction and ancestral storytelling. He uses his art to explore the self in relation to the world, metaphysics and his ancestry; drawing on Afro-Caribbean spirituality and folklore to reveal how the past shapes the present and future. Through non-linear narratives and a commitment to diversity and inclusion, Mauricio invites audiences into spaces where memory, imagination, and community meet.
