BLIJ presents MOOAH

Live performance and video premiere
BLIJ proudly presents the new single “MOOAH”, a glimpse into his upcoming EP. Accompanied by a music video directed by Charles Hardy, the song draws inspiration from the Buddhist philosophy of Anatta (non-self). With MOOAH (무아, 無我), BLIJ reflects on the fleeting nature of emotions, inviting listeners to surrender to the ebb and flow of joy and sorrow.
The song offers a resonant message: “Let us not be swayed by emotional tides, but live as true masters of our minds.” Its video offers a poetic, contemplative take on this inner journey. While “MOOAH” marks the beginning, BLIJ will also share a preview of his upcoming debut EP in this performance.
BLIJ
BLIJ is a Korean multi-disciplinary artist mainly recognised as a singer-songwriter based in the Netherlands. During his journey to understand the world, he transcribed Venerable monk’s teaching, practised and honed his skills as he aimed towards being a happier person. In 2022, he developed a dream: to become an artist who brings happiness to people. Using the Dutch word for “happy,” BLIJ, he started his journey as a singer-songwriter. All of his songs encapsulate the teachings he learned about “happiness”. His music could be described to be in the alternative rock and alternative pop spheres, although BLIJ has an extensive background in Jazz. This all culminates in an eclectic and expansive soundscape for his music which is firmly rooted in positive philosophy.
BLIJ is joined by his band: Matteo Mazzu (Bass), Pedro Nobre (Drums), Massimo Imperatore (Guitar), and Jisung Bang (Guitar).

Charles Hardy is an artist originally from Maastricht, now based in Amsterdam. His work moves across film, photography, and writing, often weaving the three together into layered narratives. With a background shaped by both visual and literary practices, Hardy is interested in the intersections between memory, place, and identity, exploring how stories can be told not only through images but also through silence, texture, and atmosphere. His projects range from intimate photographic studies to experimental films and written pieces, each reflecting a careful attention to detail and a search for authenticity. Based in Amsterdam, he continues to develop his multidisciplinary practice, collaborating with other artists and engaging with the city’s dynamic creative community.
