The chair, the wig and the sheep: The portable universe

The chair, the wig and the sheep: The portable universe

What if everything in a radically neoliberal society was shaped by human labor instead of technology?

Pull up a chair with artist Rosa Vrij, who personally guides you through a fictional universe contained within a small suitcase. This "capitalist fairy tale" unfolds through miniatures, music boxes, comic drawings and documents.

Free Entrance - RSVP

First Performance (19:30)

Second Performance (20:15)

In this capitalist fairy tale, acrobats play the role of furniture; politicians play pool all day long; teenagers launch themselves as brands during the Wig Ceremony; consumption is encouraged by dancing advertising teams on roller skates; and a resistance group of the Wigless attempts to change the system.

It is a playful, humorous exaggeration of our own reality, designed to make the absurdity of modern logic literally palpable. In a world driven by efficiency, this performance is a counterweight of meticulous handiwork and a much-needed ode to the collective imagination.
