Splendor Muziektalkshow

Splendor Muziektalkshow
Aad van Nieuwkerk in conversation with Tcha Limberger

Tcha Limberger seems to be made entirely of music (The Observer). Splendor musician Michiel Weidner met him in 1993 at a musical theater group in Ghent. Tcha was 17 and played clarinet and guitar. To his astonishment, Michiel encountered him again in Ghent less than three years later, playing the violin in pure Budapest style. And what a violinist! Playing the violin as if you'd never done anything else, so virtuosic—how could that be possible if you only started at 17?

Tcha is capable of so much. He has many, many faces, a distinct instrument for each, his own band with its own repertoire: Hungarian, Jazz-Manouche, Transylvanian, Romanian, Greek, Serbian, flamenco. He travels the world with it, and tonight he'll be at Splendor to talk about it, in fluent Flemish. About his family, a musician for generations, his Manouche heritage, and the apparent ease with which he travels, following his ears and nose, because he can't see. He'll be bringing his guitar, his violin, his tarogato, and of course his voice to Splendor, and you can ask him anything.
