Spitskop#3: METROPOLO + tontea + Gonzo Bimbo + Blind 92 (DJ) + Aapje (VJ)
Spitskop returns for its third edition at OCCII, bringing together thrilling new music, visuals, and a bit of chaos. The night will blur the lines between genres, from rock and italo to indie noise and rave. Alongside the music, there will be visual projections that shift and morph, creating a constantly evolving atmosphere. Spitskop isn’t about having everything figured out – it’s about feeling something, whatever that is.

METROPOLO (indie rock)
The indie formation METROPOLO is solid as a rock. Music you can jump, dance, or cry to. This April, their new EP ‘Glass to the Sky’ will be released, featuring themes such as broken relationships, partying to forget, and damaged systems.
Anyone expecting a night of plain vanilla pop songs will be surprised by subtle rock and danceable melancholy.

tontea (indie noise)
Tontea (literally “Go flirt”) is the mouthpiece of a kitchen-sink philosopher whose girlypop absurdism finds its home in the jangling garage rock rhythms of her fellow bandmates. Taking equally after the theatrics of Chappell Roan and Black Midi, and the angular riffs of Slint and Dry Cleaning, the band’s performances swing from comedic to intensely captivating both between and within the curt songs of their fever-dream setlist.

Gonzo Bimbo (euro, italo, dance)
Italo-Euro-Pop inspired musical and performative duo from Amsterdam and Groningen. Visual artist and singer Enrica Arbia and musician Elias Elgersma (The Homesick, Huub Prins) deliver melody driven dance grooves combined with extravagant weirdo performances. The Dutch/Italian duo performs live with a minimal amount of equipment and a maximum amount of energy. Inspired by the sweetness of European pop, and the dirt and darkness of EBM and 80’s post-punk. July 19th 2024 they released their first self-titled EP, ‘Gruppo Bimbo’.

Blind 92 (rave, disco, house)
Co-founding the notorious INSTINCT rave parties and the underground club ECHO BAY in Chonqing China, the Dutch born Blind ‘92 has been undisputedly the most prominent foreign figure in the fast paced scene of Chongqing, China. Growing up in a peaceful town in central Holland surrounded by creativity, art and music, Bram van Ravenhorst developed an early eagerness for musical and spiritual experiences.
Since moving back to his native Holland and taking residence in Amsterdam, Bram has pursued his passion in music and become a very versatile dj being able to cross many genres from disco to rave while keeping connected to the dance floor.

Aapje (visuals)
Jorn Leeuwerink is a Dutch animation director. He studied animation at the HKU University of the Arts Utrecht and graduated in 2017 with the film “Flower Found!”. His debut film “Varken” was released in 2022, and has been screened at film festivals around the world and went on to win more than 30 awards.
