Samhain Dinner Party

Join us 30 October for a Samhain celebration, a community dinner party with spooky witchy pre-Halloween vibes, as part of the Plucking the Broom exhibition.

Samhain, sometimes referred to as the Celtic new year, celebrates and honors the transition from light to dark, the cycle of life and death, honoring ancestors and the idea that at this time the boundary between the physical world and the spirit world is thinner. It’s one of the most celebrated seasonal rituals amongst witches and pagans.

Halloween combines the tradition of Samhain with christian traditions and European folk magic, and elements of popular culture. For example, dressing up as something scary was once a way to hide or confuse spirits wandering around. Since we also enjoy mixing stuff up, this dinner party will be a bit of Halloween and Samhain combined.

So join us for some food, dress up witchy, and bring something physical that reminds you of your ancestors – this can be a remembrance of your literal ancestors, but it can also be something representing whoever it is you feel connected to.

Joining dinner is €10, but please reach out to us if you’d like to join but can’t afford the ticket.
