Reticulum Community Videocall No.4 May
The fourth Reticulum Community Videocall to connect local communities building autonomous networks using the versatile networking stack and its rapidly expanding ecosystem of software and hardware. The featured community this month is in Montréal, Québec.
We will hear from anarchists in Montreal who have been learning about LoRa mesh networking for the past few years, with a shift in the past year towards building local Reticulum networks over LoRa. This year has seen a proliferation of related initiatives bubbling up across the city, with anarchists from different neighbourhoods and scenes; DIY punks, queer revolutionaries, student radicals, and greybeard hams, all having a shared interest in autonomous, private and secure communications and learning together how Reticulum provides the tools to build these networks. The most regular city-wide space for learning and experimentation has been the monthly Mesh Nights at the local hackerspace, Foulab, and one week after this video call the Montreal Anarchist Tech Convergence will be hosting a second annual Mesh Day gathering there:
