Pra Gira Girar—A Celebration of Os Tincoãs
They were a Brazilian popular music group from Bahia, primarily active in the 1960s and 1970s. The music of Os Tincoãs was heavily influenced by Bahia's Candomblé culture and tradition. The Tincoãs brought together religious chants, gods, orixás and sambas de roda, reinforcing Afro-Brazilian heritage. About the founders
Mateus Aleluia (83 years old) is still very active in singing and songwriting. In 2017 he released "Fogueira Doce", a new album produced independently.
Another 'Tincoã' is Badu (76 years old), who joined Os Tincoãs in 1975 remaining till 1983.
Dadinho died in Luanda, Angola in 2000, where he had opened a bakery. The New York Times about Pra Gira Girar:

That is the story of Pra Gira Girar—A Celebration of Os Tincoãs. Born of love and reverence for
Bahia’s legendary trio, Os Tincoãs, this studio project reimagines their music for today’s audiences.
In the 1970s, Os Tincoãs combined chants from the Candomblé and Umbanda religions with intricate
vocal arrangements and unearthly close harmonies, creating some of the most important recordings
in the history of Brazilian popular music.
Inspired by historic LPs, four singer-songwriters—Alvaro Lancellotti, Michele Leal, Alan de
Deus, Zé Manoel and guitarist Pedro Costa —formed Pra Girar Gira in 2025.
Together with a group of outstanding instrumentalists and producers Kassin and Mario Caldato Jr. they transform classic songs like "Atabaque Chora", "Cordeiro de Nanã" and “Na Beira do Mar” by weaving in
modern basslines, vibrant horn sections, and expanded percussion.
