OLIVER TREE – LOVE YOU MADLY, HATE YOU BADLY
Creative all-rounder from LA builds his own world with alternative rock, folk and hip-hop

With a sound that oscillates between alternative rock, folk and hip-hop, Oliver Tree is hard to pin down to a single genre. As a singer, producer, writer and director, he operates at the intersection of art and entertainment. Based in Los Angeles, he is building a colourful, satirical world full of characters, drawing on influences from comedy and action sports. His breakthrough came in 2016 with ‘When I’m Down’, which went viral and put him on the map as an unpredictable newcomer. With his Billboard-charting debut album ‘Ugly Is Beautiful’ from 2020, he established himself as an artist who thrives on pushing genre boundaries.

With the singles ‘Superhero’ and ‘Joyride’, he built up to his most recent album ‘Love You Madly, Hate You Badly’, which was released in April. He wrote and produced the project entirely himself, recording it in some eighty countries across seven continents, something that is audible in the broad mix of styles and influences. Themes such as love and loathing, chaos and control constantly intertwine, whilst he plays with the tension between light-hearted pop hooks and sharp, emotional lyrics.
