Nape Neck celebrates the release of their delicious album, Giulio Erasmus and his Worms are back for a dubdancerevanche, O, and Geo kicks off their tour in Amsterdam, isn’t that sweet? Nape Neck (UK) grinds out screeching guitars and hypnotising rhythms, tangling together into conjuring no wave. Knotted rhythms and overlapping vocal shouts from all three band members that bring to mind Scissor Girls / Erase Errata. Drawing inspiration from the spiky tension of first wave UK post-punk and translating it through the more wild and free tendencies of DNA-descended downtown art-noise. O, what a lively adventure this is in real life.

They remixed & remastered their first two amazing releases into a new album that came out March 20 on OCCII, Red Wig, Dot Dash Sounds. Come celebrate and get the vinyl, please!

Nape Neck by Nape Neck

Giulio Erratum and the Uniform (BE) brings new interpretations to dub and minimal wave. Two incredible solo albums have consolidated in a band that is able to travel. Giulio‘s endeavors in bands such as D.U.D.S. and Handle have been leading to a search for reversing musical logic. From Manchester to Brussels, Giulio brings a musical heritage into new directions.

Fragmented collages, samples and contemplative lyrics have been worked out to a T. Translated to a five-headed-band with two drummers, synths and the always present bass guitar that create a floating base of dub, funk and wave. Music moves between song and non-song. A natural strain that lures you in and keeps you locked, makes you move without knowing your moving. Proved their powers in a smokey and quiet Nachbar and will do so again in Vondelbunker.

Geo (NL) creates jitterbug, birdbrained music, clashing no wave with funk. Gibberish lyrics, cheese grater guitars and weird samples strung together by playful rhythms and addictive basslines. Changing from a quintet to a quartet brings new dynamics and new music. With loud applauded releases, we are about to discover which direction this ship is sailing in. More free form grooves, more loudness, still an estranging world. Kinda feels like a dance party in the purgatory.
