Meet-a-Maker
Come to Mediamatic to have a talk with our artists-in-residence! Learn more about their work or talk about your project with the artists who inspired you. The Center for Genomic Gastronomy are open to creative consultation and discussing ideas.
Meet-a-Maker is a 30-minute session to have a one-on-one talk with artists currently working at Mediamatic. We are lucky to be inspired by the many artists who work and stay with us for exhibitions, residencies and workshops. We welcome you to meet them and be inspired as well!
About the artists
The Center for Genomic Gastronomy is an artist-led think tank that examines the biotechnologies and biodiversity of human food systems. Their work is often site-specific and takes new forms that are dependent on each environment.
Their mission is:
to map food controversies
* to prototype alternative culinary futures
* to imagine a more just, biodiverse & beautiful food system.
The Center presents its research through public lectures, research publications, meals and exhibitions. Since 2010, the Center has conducted research and exhibited in Europe, Asia and North America. They collaborate with scientists, chefs, hackers and farmers.
Zack Denfeld and Cathrine Kramer founded the Center for Genomic Gastronomy in 2010 and continue to lead many of the research projects the Center undertakes. They are artists.
They participated in the Get Prepped: On and Off the Grid event of 2017.
