max abysmal & whydj come together, as best friends, they have played together since 2012. they bring a shared instinct for the unexpected.
Sydney-born, Amsterdam-based, Max Abysmal has built a name as a master of low tempos and high intensities, with a sound that ranges from wavy ambient to dusty 80s funk, early techno, jungle and lo-fi electro. A regular across Red Light Radio, Safe Trip and Dekmantel circles, he's held residencies at De School and Garage Noord, and has played Dekmantel's Greenhouse stage, Boiler Room, and the Selectors stage b2b with Gilb'r. His debut EP landed via Safe Trip to strong acclaim, with a full-length in the works.
WHYDJ is a fixture in Amsterdam's underground club and radio scene, regularly behind the decks at Garage Noord, playing sets that move through experimental electronica, dub and reggae.
