Na een zinderende eerste editie opent Lola Tuthola Lollipop opnieuw haar deuren en heet je welkom in Lola’s Huis: een meerdaags queer theaterfestival vol performances, theater en panelgesprekken tijdens Amsterdam Pride.
Elke dag bestaat het hoofdprogramma uit een bonte mix van kleurrijke performances of een theatervoorstelling, gevolgd door een verdiepend panelgesprek met makers, denkers en activisten. Iedere dag stelt Lola een programma samen rond een thema dat vandaag de dag in de queer-community speelt. Thema’s als veiligheid van queer personen, mentale gezondheid van de community en voorbeelden van positieve mannelijkheid komen openhartig aan bod.
In een tijd van conservatieve politieke ontwikkelingen biedt Lola met haar huis een veilige
haven: een plek voor queer herkenning, empowerment en hoop. Dit festival is ontstaan vanuit een behoefte aan verdieping en gesprekken die op de dansvloer niet gevoerd kunnen worden.
Hiermee gaat Lola’s Huis verder dan een Pride-feest, activistisch debat of theatervoorstelling; zij wil een tijdelijke thuisbasis zijn voor de queer community tijdens Pride-month.

Donderdag 16 juli – Creating Safety & Community (ENG)
Op deze openingsdag maken we ruimte voor queer nieuwkomers en mensen die in
Amsterdam een nieuw leven opbouwen. Hoe ga je als queer persoon om met onveiligheid in een azc? Welke uitdagingen en vormen van veerkracht ontstaan daaruit, en hoe vind je een weg naar je eigen community? Via gesprekken en performances openen we op deze avond een gesprek over wat er nodig is om je welkom, veilig en gedragen te voelen.

Performance Miss BB Bellyhood – 20:30-20:45
Miss BB Bellyhood is big, beautiful & audacious, en kent absoluut geen schaamte. Ze tovert elke ruimte om tot een plek waar iedereen wordt uitgenodigd om ruimte in te nemen. Met glitter, lef en onbeschaamde vreugde viert Miss BB het lichaam, de vrijheid en de schoonheid van ‘te veel’ zijn. Verwacht veel liefde en een vleugje chaos!

Clara Saito
Clara Saito voert het doorgaande performance project Sad Clown uit; geïnspireerd door
Emmet Kelly en drag, brengt Sad Clown een mix van theatraliteit, lip sync en somatische publieksinteractie waarin verdriet cathartisch wordt omgezet tot energie en een emotionele uitlaatklep, verzet en onverwachte vreugde.

Remi Jan
Remi is een in Jerevan geboren, in Nederland gevestigde queer Armeense dragartiest wiens werk het snijvlak verkent van emotie, genderexpressie en culturele vernieuwing. Door middel van theatrale en emotioneel geladen performances queert Remi zowel popcultuur als Armeens erfgoed, en creëert daarmee de blauwdruk voor een Armeense popdiva in de wereld van drag.
Alfa Hoer
Latinx performer, drag artist, and cultural organizer brengt clown performance Not Mine to Carry naar het podium – een deel van OUT LOUD, TOGETHER. Vanuit inspiratie uit gesprekken over trans zichtbaarheid en lichaamstaal volgt het stuk een clown die ballonnen aan diens lichaam vast heeft zitten, die elk een woord dragen waarvan iemand wenst nooit zo genoemd te zijn geweest. Een stuk dat een ritueel van ontlading wordt, waarbij het publiek wordt uitgenodigd te reflecteren op de woorden die we erven, de taal die we kiezen en hoe het creëren van ruimte voor nieuwe woorden ook ruimte kan maken voor nieuwe manieren van ergens toe behoren.

Vrijdag 17 juli – (Performing) Masculinity + Afterparty hosted by Drek Manor (NL &
ENG)
Op deze dag nemen we (het performen van) masculien gedrag, buiten én binnen de queer- scene onder de loep. Welke delen van de man vinden we mooi, aantrekkelijk en willen we aanmoedigen? En welke delen van de man willen we het liefst zo snel mogelijk achter ons laten.

The Drek Manor host net als vorig jaar de afterparty vol oogverblindende drag, scherpe lip-syncs, uit de hand gelopen podiumkunsten en een huis vol kleurrijke figuren die elkaar ergens tussen de bar en de dansvloer ontmoeten. Het wordt weer een prachtige chaos van een feest!

Zaterdag 18 juli – Queer Allies (ENG)
Op deze dag zetten we de spotlight op queer allies: personen die zich zelf niet als queer identificeren, maar zich wel als bondgenoot inzetten voor de rechten van queer personen. Hoe ben je een goede ally, en waar heeft de queer community vandaag de dag nood aan?

Een avond vol drag, burlesque, comedy, drama en mysterie. Een viering van queer joy, radicale zelfexpressie en de kracht van gekozen familie. Met niemand minder dan Jezzebel, Nat Tasje, Juno en Ladybag die ons verzorgen van een fabuleus, glamoureus en compleet chaotisch spektakel!
Vanaf 22:30 drankjes bij de bar!

Zondag 19 juli – Regenboogfamiliedag (NL)
Kinderpret in Lola’s Huis! Op zondagmiddag stelt Lola’s Huis samen met Regenboogverhalen Amsterdam een speciaal programma samen voor queer families. Lola zal voorlezen uit kinderboeken met queer thema’s, er zal geknutseld worden in de foyer en de Liveshow van Sara’s Mysteries (7+) zal in de zaal te zien zijn. Een gezellige middag voor jong en oud, waar regenbooggezinnen elkaar kunnen ontmoeten en kinderen zich kunnen vermaken. Natuurlijk onder het genot van een (alcoholvrij) drankje!

After an exhilarating first edition, Lola Tuthola Lollipop again opens the doors to her cozy home and welcomes you to Lola’s House: a multi-day queer festival filled with performances, theatre and panels during Amsterdam Pride. Each day, the main program consists of a vibrant mix of colorful performances or a theatre show, followed by a panel that invites further conversation with makers, thinkers, and activists.”

Everyday, the main programme consists of a creative bunch of colourful performances or a play, followed by a panel that allows for further conversation with makers, thinkers and activists. For each day, Lola curates a programme that focuses on a current theme in the queer community. During these days, she makes space to openly speak about themes such as safety, mental health of the community and examples of positive masculinity.

In times of conservative political development, Lola is offering a safe haven: a place for queer recognition, empowerment and hope. This festival originates from a need for further conversation that is not possible on the dance floor. Through this approach, Lola’s Huis is more than a Pride party, activist debate or theatre play; she wants to create a temporary homebase for the queer community during Pride month.

Thursday July 16 th – Creating Safety & Community (ENG)
On this opening day, we create space for queer refugees and people building a new life in Amsterdam. How do you navigate feelings of unsafety as a queer person in an asylum center?
What kinds of challenges and forms of resilience emerge from this, and how do you find your way toward your own community? Through conversations and performances, this evening
opens a dialogue about what is needed to feel welcomed, safe, and supported.

Clara Saito performs the ongoing performance project Sad Clown. Inspired
by Emmet Kelly and drag, the piece blends theatricality, lip-syncing, and somatic audience interaction where sadness cathartically becomes energy, a site for
emotional release, resistance, and unexpected joy.
Remi Jan
Remi is a Yerevan-born, Netherlands-based queer Armenian drag artist whose work explores the intersection of emotion, gender expression, and cultural innovation. Through theatrical and emotionally charged performances, Remi queers both pop culture and Armenian heritage, thereby creating the blueprint for an Armenian pop diva in the world of drag.
Alfa Hoer
Latinx performer, drag artist, and cultural organizer brings clown performance Not Mine to Carry to the stage – an excerpt of OUT LOUD, TOGETHER. Inspired by conversations around trans visibility and body language, the piece follows a clown carrying balloons attached to their body, each bearing a word someone has wished they had never been called.
The performance becomes a ritual of release, inviting audiences to reflect on the words we inherit, the language we choose, and how making space for new words can also make space for new ways of belonging.

On this day, we take a closer look at (the performance of) masculinity, both outside and within the queer scene. Which parts of masculinity do we find beautiful, attractive, and worth encouraging? And which parts do we want to leave behind?

Saturday July 18th – Queer Allies (ENG)

On this day, we shine a spotlight on queer allies: people who do not identify as queer themselves, but who actively stand in solidarity with the rights of queer people. What does it mean to be a good ally, and what does the queer community need today?

Sunday July 19th – Regenboogfamiliedag – Queer Families (programme in Dutch only)

Children’s laughter at Lola’s Huis! This Sunday afternoon Lola’s Huis curates a programme for queer families in collaboration with Regenboog Verhalen (translation: Rainbow Stories).
Lola will read aloud children’s books about queer themes, there’s arts and crafts in the foyer and the Sara’s Mysteries Liveshow (7+) will take place in the Grote Zaal. A cosy afternoon for youngsters and their parents, where queer families can meet each other and children can entertain themselves. Of course, there’s (alcoholfree) drinks.
This programme will be held in Dutch only.
