Live at the BBQ is a collective shaped by members of the diaspora, drawing from Caribbean, African and European lineages that inform both our identity and programming. We create spaces where music becomes a meeting point for heritage, memory and belonging; across radio, film, gatherings and club nights. Our work centres representation, cultural exchange and the connective spirit of sound as a way of bringing communities together.
Garnett
Garnett works at the intersection of sound and community, drawing from diasporic influences that shape both his musical approach and cultural perspective. Through DJing, radio and his stewardship of Live at the BBQ, he creates spaces centred on belonging, exchange and shared heritage. His work moves fluidly between listening and dancefloor settings, always rooted in intention.
Alo (birdguy)
Alo, also known as birdguy, is a musician, visual artist and DJ whose practice moves between sound and image. His work reflects a diasporic sensibility shaped by curiosity, memory and cultural exchange. Whether through his distinctive illustrations or his selections behind the decks, he brings a thoughtful and playful presence to the spaces he inhabits.
Itz3bby
Itz3bby’s sound is shaped by UK bass culture and diasporic rhythms, bringing bounce, tension and emotional release into her sets. Her approach balances high energy with intention, connecting club momentum to personal and cultural influence. She builds atmosphere with clarity and depth.
DJ Westfa
DJ Westfa is the founder of Our Society, a collective active for over 13 years dedicated to centring and amplifying Black culture through music and programming. A resident at Refuge Worldwide in Berlin, his work bridges cities and communities, grounded in heritage, representation and long-standing cultural commitment.
