Library Card
Expressive yet thoughtful, raw yet melodious, explosive yet introverted: the Rotterdam-based band Library Card is full of contrasts. The quartet was formed in the summer of 2021, and it’s not too far-fetched to suggest that a small part of the unrest from that period has found its way into the band’s music, which shifts restlessly between angular post-punk, magnificent post-rock and fast-paced garage rock. Even in a city renowned for its unconventional guitar music, Library Card has quickly established itself as a standout act on the Rotterdam punk scene. In the autumn of 2026, their debut album, ‘Peeling an Orange in Just One Go’, finally saw the light of day. On this album, the band builds on the art-punk frenzy that made their name, whilst also venturing into slowcore, trip-hop and ominous lyrics about the current state of the world.
