Prepare for the Climate March at De Ceuvel

Want to warm up your voice for the Climate March? In the run-up to 12 September, you can join two open rehearsals at De Ceuvel:

• On 4 September, the Radicaal Zangblok will come together to practise protest songs and polyphonic pieces for the march. The rehearsal runs from 19:00 to 20:30 at the Workship. No experience is needed: anyone who feels like singing along is welcome to join.
  
• On 8 September, there will be an open rehearsal of the Klimaatkoor Amsterdam, which rehearses monthly at De Ceuvel. During the Climate March, the choir will sing with a group of more than 100 people, and you are welcome to join them. The rehearsal starts at 19:00 at the Buurtboot on the Workship.

About the Climate March

On Saturday 12 September, the national Climate March will take place in Amsterdam. Tens of thousands of people, civil society organisations and activist groups will come together to show that there is broad public support for ambitious and just climate policy.

The Climate March is organised by the Klimaatcrisis Coalitie, a broad coalition including Milieudefensie, Greenpeace, Extinction Rebellion, Fossielvrij NL, Fridays For Future, Oxfam Novib and the Jonge Klimaatbeweging.

The march takes place shortly before Prinsjesdag and calls on politicians to work towards a fast and fair transition to a fossil-free society. This includes investing in clean energy, affordable and well-insulated homes, and an economy in which major polluters pay their fair share.

Climate change affects all of us and is not only about CO2, but also about how we live, work, travel, generate energy and relate to nature and one another. By taking to the streets together, we make visible how many people are committed to a liveable and just future.
