Today we, the crowd and I, Awhlkuhn will speak to 2 individuals and 1 duo that forged a unique and unorthodox path for themselves in the world of fashion. Bypassing traditional channels to bring a fresh, sustainably minded approach to communicating and creating clothing culture and community. Come draw inspiration to further your own path in the same industry or apply these shared visions to any other place in life you need an overhaul and creative push.
Together with Iris van Melsen Co-founder Permanent Clothing Ben van Brummelen Co-founder Permanent Clothing Jonas Zitter co-founder KledingCast Edward Boyé Stylist/art directorPermanent (Ben & Iris)
“We are the owners of Permanent, a clothing brand from Amsterdam. Opposing the idea of fast fashion, Permanent seeks to make sustainability the norm. The brand is striving to reflect the unique individuality of the fashion culture through conscious collection concepts, in a more positive and sustainable way – a permanent way. For our SS26 Smog collection, Permanent looks at the timelessness of garments, questioning whether the innovations in modern fashion are not the re-appreciation of long-standing crafts. This is done through the use of natural dye pigments, wooden buttons and sustainable materials.”
