Hortus ex Machina: Principles of Care

Hortus ex Machina: Principles of Care

Explore the world of Dutch greenhouses in the exhibition Hortus ex Machina: Principles of Care. In this exhibition, artists Penelope Cain and Špela Petrič display their work, offering reflections on care, technology and the hidden life within horticulture. A panel discussion will share insights from Trouble with Labour, a joint research project by artists and employees from the horticultural sector into the principles of care for plants, people and machines. The results offer a new perspective on automation in greenhouse horticulture.

Hortus ex Machina, located in the unique exhibition space of Tomatoworld, a research and innovation centre for advanced greenhouse technologies, explores the promises of hyper-optimisation and its ethical and ecological implications.

Full programme to be announced. Please register for the guestlist before 17 November using the button below.
