Grote Geelstaart
Grote Geelstaart balances at all times like a tightrope walker threatening to lose his equilibrium at any moment. Noise orchestrated in such a way that it only keeps amplifying itself, to the point of bursting. They drag a mountain of instruments to every stage, including two drum kits and a collection of pedals that would make even a harsh-noise connoisseur take notice. With wry sounds and even wryer time signatures, a live show emerges that feels as oppressive and stifling as a fish out of water. Grote Geelstaart bewitches the audience with manically danceable compositions that are fused together live into a unified whole. Of the smart shirts and ties with which they enter every stage, nothing remains but the facade of a bunch of well-behaved guys. The band played at festivals such as Valkhof, Into The Great Wide Open, and Hit The City in the summer of 2025, leading up to their debut EP 'Van Reijnst'. With the release of that EP, they toured the country at a rapid pace during the Popronde. 2026 began with a successful show at Noorderslag. On April 17, the band released 'Vracht 7', the first single leading up to their next EP, 'Wij Zinken'. The single is released at the start of a busy festival summer, with confirmed spots at Best Kept Secret, Dauwpop, and Oerol in the Netherlands, among others, and multiple dates in Germany, Belgium, and Portugal. After the festival season, 'Wij Zinken', Grote Geelstaart's second EP, will be released on September 18. With this EP, the band will embark on their first headline tour through the Netherlands and Belgium.
