Goblin by Derek Mitchell

Goblin by Derek Mitchell

Goblin is a dark, funny solo performance about obsession, isolation and the cost of being seen.

Written & performed by Derek Mitchell (@letsdoubledutch), the show follows Eliot from adolescence into adulthood through a series of vividly drawn characters, shifting voices and physical transformations.

The audience is addressed as ‘Goblin’ and invited into Eliot’s inner world, then slowly shut out as he grows older, more secretive, and more entangled in a destructive attachment.

The show explores what it feels like to love someone while watching them slip away. What it’s like to sense what’s coming and still to stick around, especially when that’s the only thing left to do. What’s left is a haunting portrait of self-abandonment, performed with precision, humour, and unsettling vulnerability.
