We are excited to announce that for our next Girly Pop! we will be screening “The First Wives Club” (1996). A story that takes us through the ups and downs of divorce, loss, moving on from exes, and perhaps most importantly, getting what you deserve. This movie sets an example on how to restore bonds lost by finding a new form of sisterhood, all while saying “fuck the patriarchy!” With funny one-liners, a star cast, and banger songs.
As always, this includes a short introduction, focusing on peaking in middle age, diet culture in the 1990s, and justice in movies.
