Gallowstreet has been a household name for over a decade, with the Amsterdam-based brass band widely known for their high-energy horn sections and long-standing residency at Paradiso. On Sunday, January 24th, they return to our Main Hall to present their latest project, 'Future Brass.' This innovative, sound-first approach completely flips the conventions of brass music on its head. Instead of arranging existing songs or simply adding effects to an instrument, the creative process begins with the sonic identity of a modern record. The goal is to capture the groove, texture, and impact of genres like hip-hop and electronics live through brass. By writing like a band and thinking like a producer, the horns no longer serve as mere decoration but as an essential part of the sound design.
