Friday Night Live is the long awaited late night jam session refuge for jazz players and lovers alike! Steamy jazz, dimmed lights, bold cocktails, a delicious chef's menu and Europe’s finest musicians letting loose; Friday Night Live seeks out to become both an inspiring as well as highly entertaining institution of Amsterdam. Opening set from 20:00-21:30, jam session from 21:30-23:00, free entry if you bring your instrument.

Pianist, composer and arranger Robert Koemans is part of the new emerging generation of Dutch jazz musicians. He released original music with FENIX, his trio-debut CROSS and several projects with the eccentric 11-piece large-ensemble Coal Harbour. As a composer and arranger, he has written for bands like the Jazz Orchestra of the Concertgebouw, the Dutch Jazz Collective and the Red Light Jazz Society. He’s toured national and international jazz stages and festivals as a side- man and bandleader. At Contra, he’ll bring a fresh set of standards in a trio with the great Thomas Pol on bass and jazz veteran Joost van Schaik on drums.
