Op zondag 19 april zou FRED TABOIS 65 zijn geworden – ware het niet dat hij op 31 oktober 2019 plotseling overleed. FRED was een fenomeen in de muziekwereld en de filmwereld. Geluidstechnicus, set dresser, art director en nog duizend andere dingen. Niet voor niets heette zijn eenmanszaak Duizendpoot Producties. Daar was geen woord van gelogen.

Blue Murder, Claw Boys Claw, New Holland, 2Unlimited, Rusty Apollo, De Raggende Manne, LUL, No Honey From These, Plastic Cocon, S.M. Nurse en eM zijn enkele van de talloze bands waarvoor FRED het geluid verzorgde. Voor Eton Crop, It Dockumer Lokaeltsje, Kraaijeveld en Nasmak deed hij onnavolgbaar studio- en audioherstelwerk. Als zanger van De Basic Tirolers wekte FRED het in hem sluimerende podiumbeest tot leven. Op de sets van films als Boy Ecury, Grimm, Vox populi, Kristen en Alberta was hij set dresser, art director en all-round fikser.

FREDFEST: The FRED TABOIS Tribute Show

On Sunday 19 April, FRED TABOIS would have turned 65 – had he not passed away suddenly on 31 October 2019. FRED was a phenomenon in the worlds of music and film. Sound engineer, set dresser, art director and a thousand other things. It is no coincidence that his one-man business was called Duizendpoot Producties (Jack-of-all-trades Productions). No lies there.

Blue Murder, Claw Boys Claw, New Holland, 2Unlimited, Rusty Apollo, De Raggende Manne, LUL, No Honey From These, Plastic Cocon, S.M. Nurse and eM are just a few of the countless bands for whom FRED handled the sound. For Eton Crop, It Dockumer Lokaeltsje, Kraaijeveld and Nasmak, he carried out inimitable studio and audio restoration work. As the singer of De Basic Tirolers, FRED brought his inner stage animal to life. On the sets of films such as Boy Ecury, Grimm, Vox populi, Kristen and Alberta, he was a set dresser, art director and all-round fixer.
